About the Photographer
My name is Lexy Marie Christiano. I was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised all up and down the East coast. Though I claim Durham, North Carolina as my hometown, I am currently pursuing a degree in Studio Art at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia. Growing up, I always dreamed of being an artist, although it wasn't until I turned 13 that I first picked up a camera. In the six years since then, I have been unable to put it down.
My first love in photography has always been portraiture. I believe that nothing is more beautiful than emotion, and capturing those perfect little moments that would otherwise go unnoticed. As Lewis Hine said, "If I could tell the story in words, I wouldn't need to lug around a camera."
Currently, I shoot with a Nikon D80 and prefer to keep my images unedited, to allow the natural beauty shine through.
